Alternatives To All Natural Organic Skin Care Products

By Nelda Powers

One of the best things to do for your diet and other aspects of your life is to remove as many chemicals and processed things as possible, replacing them with natural options. Meat without hormones, cage-free eggs, and all natural organic skin care products are great choices for improving your lifestyle.

While these are all good things to do, they require knowledge, time, and often money that not everyone has. When you make the commitment to a more simple lifestyle, it may take some time to work up to these things. However, even if you cannot afford fancy and expensive options, there are things you can do to begin taking steps toward a healthier lifestyle.

Eating real food is one of the best ways to begin. Lots of people include too many unnecessary processed foods in their diets. Here are some areas where you can start to make these changes. You will probably find that buying less processed food and more whole ingredients saves money rather than costing more.

1. Avoid processed meat products. The frozen food aisle is filled with chicken rings, fish sticks, and other overly processed meats. Leave those things alone, and choose meat that looks like chicken, fish, pork and beef. There should not be much done to your meat before it reaches your table other than packaging, freezing and cooking. If you want fried or breaded meats, make them from scratch in your own kitchen.

2. Avoid packaged cookies and cakes. If a bake good doesn't go stale after a few days, it probably contains too many preservatives. This is true of most of the snack cakes and cookies you'll find in grocery store aisles. Make your own cakes and cookies at home. The will cost less, taste better, be healthier, and make your house smell fantastic.

3. Bread. Whole wheat bread, muffins, tortillas, and bagels are always better options than their white counterparts, which are made from bleached flour. Even some "whole grain" breads have bleached flour as their main ingredient. Choose breads labled "100% whole wheat, " or make your own bread from scratch.

Cleaning agents and beauty products are another area in which you can change the things you use. These changes will not necessarily increase your expenses. Sometimes you can use familiar household staples in new ways. One example of this is using vinegar for cleaning. You can use this chemical-free, inexpensive option to clean your counters, mop your floor, and remove the residue from your coffee maker. It won't leave a strong smell, either. An example of a household ingredient that can be used as a beauty product is olive oil, which can moisturize your hair and skin.

While all natural organic skin care products and organic foods are wonderful choices, they may not be financially viable options for everyone. Do not feel bad if you cannot afford them right now. Simply take the steps you are able to take. Also, explore options such as wholesalers and food assistance programs, which may help you to purchase the organic options for less. Do what you can towards making your lifestyle more natural.
