Demetrios Gabriel: Vitamin D For A Better Life

By Katie Arden

With a number of vitamin deficiencies to take into consideration, I have to believe that the one regarding vitamin D is one of the most serious. The "sunshine vitamin" should be taken in through healthy amounts and when it is not, it is clear that health overall could be much better. With such a vitamin that holds a nickname like this, what is it about vitamin D that makes it so special? Here are just a couple of points that Demetrios Gabriel can attest to.

Vitamin D, as Demetrios Gabriel will be able to bring to your attention, is needed for the purpose of bone structure seen over the course of time. You can stand the risk of not having fully developed bones and the same goes for your teeth. As a result, this nutrient is essential but you may be curious about the exact sources of it. For those who would like to know, authorities along the lines of Gabriel Pediatrics can be of assistance on the matter.

One of the good things about vitamin D, from what I have seen, is that many good producers have taken to including it with their products. It's not uncommon to go to a grocery store and see a carton of orange juice with the label "Vitamin D added" or something along those lines. There are also foods which include them naturally, most of them being fish. What this means is that if you're someone who enjoys shrimp every now and then, for instance, you are getting vitamin D.

Did you know that you can take in vitamin D without even eating the foods that include it? Your body will be able to naturally produce it on its own with exposure to the Sun, provided you are able to get around ten minutes or so outside. However, you do not want to overdo it, seeing as how intense sunlight can wind up becoming a negative for the health of your skin. If you are someone who has fairer skin, for example, you'll want to gauge Sun exposure carefully.

There is a level of importance to consider with vitamin D and I am sure that most would be able to agree with such a sentiment. It's clear that it is important for the development of the body over the course of time, bone health being a main point to consider. What about the specific ways in which it can be included, though? The best foods may have it or perhaps the Sun will prove to be a viable source but the truth remains that vitamin D is surprising accessible.
