There are some states that do not see the need to stop an addiction that has become rampant among its people especially the youth. The necessity of West Virginia drug testing is not seen as mandatory. There is no law that has been put in place to make it a must for the residents.
When one is sick and they go to see a doctor, whatever they are given to relieve their pain or to treat them is called a drug. This is usually only taken on prescription by the doctor. There are others that are taken not for any ailment but just for one to feel good or high get high. When they get used to it they become addicts and they cannot do anything without it.
In most countries or states, it is common law or necessity or even a requirement that employers carry out a drug test to their employees especially before they are hired, so as to ensure they have staff who are capable of working well. This is not a new thing in the states. The tests are again done after some time of working the company.
People should not feel like their rights are being infringed on when the individuals are asked to take the test. It is like helping them take good care of their health and also helping them stay healthy. They become better employees with much better results in the company as they are always sober and able to work together and have a good relationship with their bosses. Having an addict as an employee can even be dangerous to the other workers as they are hard to work with.
While some employers have it as mandatory, some view it as a waste of time and money, not caring whether their workers are affected or not, as long as they work and if you do not work well according to what they want you get the sack. The health of the worker is not their problem. They feel it has no effectiveness at all, to the real drug addiction problem.
Some companies have programs to teach their workers all they need to know about drugs and the benefits of testing. When this is done not only are the workers healthy but the company work also improves. The relationship between employer and employee is good and this is a benefit for both parties.
It is therefore seen that when you educate a person on the benefits of drug testing, it is as well as educating the whole society as they educate each other, making it a progressive society with no risks of drug addiction.
It is not a bad idea making it a must for people to be tested. They can even do it to older school children as some of them get the addiction from their parents or siblings. Some get it from their peers when they sometimes want to fit in.
