You must have an Allen or torque wrench. You must also have some sandpaper as you are going to use that to make it smoother. If you have all of what you needed then you could now start on that.

You have to avoid putting grease on its clamping area. When you will grease that, it will be causing that bar to slide from its place. You should be certain that a situation like that will not be happening specifically when you would use the bike. You will surely lose control as you would ride your bike. When it will be happening, it would be risky for you.

You must be certain that the diameter on a bar clamp will be able to match on the diameter of that stem. You must be checking it so you could surely avoid some problems. This will not fit into it if both of the diameter will not fit each other. Before you will be buying one, you should check their diameter to avoid wasting some money on it.

If you are installing the stem that is new, there are still some instructions from the manufacturer that you should read. Some steps have been set by a manufacturer so you can be certain that it is correctly done. It is indicated on their manual so they can provide that on you so you will not find it difficult on how you can start with that.

One has to inspect its front step clamp as there could be edges that are sharp. Use a sandpaper to get rid of that. The fibers of that aluminum or fiber of the carbon would be damaged if that is not made properly. When you have it on the right position, it has to be clamped to its stem. You must ensure that this will be tight.

You have to slide its level on that bar. If it will be uncomfortable for you, you can adjust that based on what you wanted. You should be placing that slowly. You should not forget that when it gets broken, the warranty of that material will not be valid.

It can be wrap if you prefer that. When you try this, you must ensure that a helmet would be worn. Inspect if it will function properly prior to the time you will be utilizing it on longer distances.

It is essential that those steps will be followed. This will be risky on you as you will lose your control on that bike. It could cause worst injuries on a person.
